Menin Gate, Ypres

Every night at 8.00pm a moving ceremony takes place under the Menin Gate in Ieper - Ypres. The Last Post Ceremony has become part of the daily life in Ieper (Ypres) and the local people are proud of this simple but moving tribute to the courage and self-sacrifice of those who fell in defence of their town. Bois Goetre-Hen Male Choir performed in this ceremony on 25th August 2016 singing 'Deep River' and 'Gwahoddiad'.

​Bois Goetre-Hen Male Choir, as part of their 7th anniversary celebrations, attended Belgium for a five day tour during August 2016.  They visited several War Graves and sang at Essex Wood Cemetery, performing 'In Flanders Fields', and 'Sunset Poem' at Hedd Wyn's grave.  The choir culminated its day of commemorations by performing in the 'Last Post Ceremony' at Menin Gate, Ypres singing 'Deep River' and 'Gwahoddiad'.  Whilst staying in Mons, the choir visited Bruges, Namur, Brussels and ended it's fantastic tour with a join concert in Morlanwelz with Chorale L'Emilienne.
