Our Choir was formed in August 2009 when a number of like-minded individuals began to visualise the formation of a Male Choir in the Lower Llynfi Valley.
Our group of experienced and well respected Choristers came up with some basic philosophies: • Keep the choir to a manageable size; • Take our music to the community-at-large; • Establish ourselves as a quality musical group; • Encourage less experienced Choristers to grow in ability and musicality; • Share our joy in singing!
Members of our Choir come from all over the County Borough of Bridgend and its surrounding areas, and from all walks of life. We range in age from teenagers to octogenarians and diversity is also reflected in our repertoire, from Calon Lan to Coldplay! We delight in making music and we are pleased to continue to maintain the great Welsh tradition of Male Choral singing with a modern twist. We have quickly gained a reputation for excellence in performance and have sung at a multitude of events and venues all over the UK.

You may already be thinking of joining a choir, and would like to know more about Bois Goetre-Hen. Age and background are not important, nor is the ability to read music. Forget the horrors of an audition – there isn’t one, just a short voice test in order to place you in the correct section of the Choir. Many new members had never sung in a choir before!
